RECENT TEST RESULT OF GERMANY’S CONSUMER ORGANISATION STIFTUNG WARENTEST: SHOP APOTHEKE and Europa Apotheek on the first two places in the latest investigation of services among mail- order pharmacies.

The Stifung Warentest has examined the professional competence of a total of 18 mail-order pharmacies: SHOP APOTHEKE and the future group company Europa Apotheek got the best results in this investigation work. Europa Apotheek as test winner, whose takeover by SHOP APOTHEKE EUROPE N.V. in November 2017 is planned, followed by SHOP APOTHEKE.

The research of the foundation was primarily focused on the professional quality of the consultancy and services. The experts praised that SHOP APOTHEKE as well as Europa Apotheek were the only pharmacies in the test, who wanted to know more about possible previous diseases when called by a test person regarding the intake of Voltaren pain relievers. The pharmaceutical experts of both brands explained the risk of the intake when suffering from cardiovascular diseases gave background information and offered alternatives.

A price comparison carried out from June to August 2017, which however was not included in the evaluation, also proved the great saving possibilities for consumers when buying non-prescription medicines. The difference between the official price and the best offer by online pharmacies was up to 68%. Brick-and-mortar pharmacies were not represented in this recent investigation of services. Last time they had been tested (published in May 2014) the results of service quality was quite similar to this year’s investigation.

SHOP APOTHEKE EUROPE generated sales of about EUR 191 m in the first nine months of 2017 and a growth of +53% compared to the same period last year. Headquartered in Venlo (The Netherlands), SHOP APOTHEKE EUROPE also has offices in Cologne, Düsseldorf and Tongeren, Belgium. The online pharmacy has been listed on the regulated market of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (Prime Standard) since 13 October 2016.
